Large fireplace in oak

Large castle fireplace in carved oak in the neo-Renaissance style from the 19th century. An impressive piece due to its size and the quality of its sculpture.

Bronze cupido, signed Auguste Moreau

Cupido, bronze with two original patinas. Resting on a rotating bronze base. From the late 19th century. Signed on the back "auguste moreau" In very good condition. Third son of Jean Baptiste Moreau, Auguste MOREAU (1834-1917) began sculpture with his older brother Mathurin. In 1861, he made his debut at the Paris Salon and continued to take an active part until 1910 in the Salon des Artistes Français, an artistic group of which he was a member. His realistic and graceful style is highlighted in his essentially feminine and often allegorical subjects. Numerous works in museums: Dijon, Bordeaux, Reims, Troyes . . .
